Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of dumanimedia.com and any studio project or shop purchase with Dumani Media ("we," "us," "our"). By engaging us for a project or buying a product from our shop, you agree to these Terms.
This page covers two distinct relationships: studio projects (brand identity, web development, and digital setup packages) and shop purchases (digital templates and products). Read the section relevant to you.
1. General terms
Dumani Media is a brand studio based in Kampala, Uganda. We provide brand identity design, web development, digital profile setup, and related creative services, as well as digital products sold through our online shop. These Terms apply to all visitors, clients, and customers of dumanimedia.com.
2. Studio projects
Studio projects follow the packages described on our Pricing page: The Full Launch, the Brand Identity Package, the Web Development Package, and the Digital Setup Add-on.
- Every project begins with a written proposal confirming scope, timeline, and price, sent within 48 hours of your discovery call.
- A project officially starts once the proposal is approved and the deposit is received.
- The Web Development Package requires a finalised brand identity before work begins. The Digital Setup Add-on requires an existing or concurrent Brand Identity or Web Development package.
3. Payment terms
For The Full Launch, the Brand Identity Package, and the Web Development Package:
- 50% deposit due before work begins
- 50% final payment due on delivery and your approval of the completed work
The Digital Setup Add-on is paid in full upfront.
We accept payment via bank transfer, MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, and card payment, in UGX or USD. Invoices are issued for every payment.
If a final payment is overdue by more than 14 days after delivery, we reserve the right to withhold final source files and access credentials until payment is received in full.
4. Revisions and feedback
Every package includes two structured rounds of revisions, provided at defined review points in the project (for example, after the brand identity is presented, and after the website design is presented).
Revision requests must stay within the scope originally agreed. Requests that significantly change the scope — a different target audience, a fundamentally different design direction, additional pages or deliverables not in the original proposal — will be quoted separately and may affect the delivery timeline.
Additional revision rounds beyond the two included are available on request and quoted at our standard rate at the time.
5. Timeline and delays
Delivery timelines are stated in the written proposal and on our Pricing page — 3 weeks for The Full Launch, 1 week for the Brand Identity Package, 1–2 weeks for the Web Development Package, and 2–3 days for the Digital Setup Add-on.
These timelines assume feedback is provided within 2 business days of each review point. Late feedback from your side extends the delivery date by an equivalent amount. We will communicate any delay on our side as soon as it becomes apparent, along with a revised delivery date.
6. Intellectual property and file ownership
On full and final payment, ownership of all final deliverables — logo files, brand guidelines, website source code, and any other agreed deliverables — transfers to you. This includes source files (Figma, code repositories) and export packages (SVG, PNG, PDF).
We retain the right to display completed projects in our portfolio (on /work and in case studies) and in marketing materials, unless you request otherwise in writing — for example, due to confidentiality requirements specific to your business.
Before final payment is received, all work-in progress remains the intellectual property of Dumani Media.
7. Cancellation
If you need to cancel a project after the deposit has been paid:
- If work has not yet begun, the deposit is refunded in full, minus any payment processing fees already incurred.
- If work is in progress, the deposit covers work completed to date. Any unused portion is refunded; if work completed exceeds the deposit value, the difference is invoiced.
- If a project is paused for more than 60 days at your request, we reserve the right to close the project and treat it as cancelled.
8. Shop purchases
The following sections apply specifically to digital products purchased through our shop (/shop) — the Brand Guidelines Template, Social Media Template Pack, UI Component Library, Brand Strategy Workbook, and Pitch Deck Template.
- All shop products are digital downloads. No physical goods are shipped.
- Payment is processed securely through Stripe and/or our digital product platform. We do not store your card details.
- Upon successful payment, you receive an email with a download link or access instructions, typically within minutes.
9. Shop product licence
Unless otherwise stated on the individual product page, shop products are licensed (not sold) to you under the following terms:
- You may use the product for your own business
- You may use the product for client work, if you are a freelancer, consultant, or agency
- You may customise the product freely
- You may use the product across unlimited personal or client projects
You may not:
- Resell, redistribute, or share the original template or source files
- Repackage the product, in whole or in part, and sell it as your own product
- Share your download link publicly or with anyone who has not purchased the product
The UI Component Library is released under an MIT licence, which is more permissive than the terms above. See the product page for full detail.
10. Shop refund policy
Because shop products are digital and accessible immediately upon purchase, all sales are final once a product has been downloaded. We do not offer refunds for change of mind, or because a product didn't meet expectations that weren't clearly described on the product page.
If you experience a genuine technical issue — a corrupted file, a broken download link, a Figma file that won't open — contact us at dumanimedia@gmail.com and we will resolve it, including a refund if the issue cannot be fixed.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dumani Media's total liability for any claim arising from a studio project or shop purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that specific project or product. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption, arising from your use of our services or products.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date. For active projects, the Terms in effect at the time your proposal was approved will continue to apply for the duration of that project.
